We will be leaving on Saturday morning (1/13) for the long drive to Galveston to tour and stay the night on the ship that evening. We will visit NASA Sunday morning (1/14) before driving back and returning Sunday evening. This is on MLK weekend, so scouts should have that Monday off from school. So, one magical night, no tent or trailer required! 

Sleeping quarters on the ship are limited, so the first 41 scouts and adults to turn in a Triptik and pay can attend. The cost is $85/person, which is pricier than normal campouts but pretty reasonable for the experience of both sleeping on an old WWII ship and touring NASA. We recognize the cost can be prohibitive, so please let us know if that’s the case for you and we may have resources to help.

Please keep in mind extra cash will be needed for food/snacks on the long trip to and from, so I would guesstimate an additional $20-$30 to give your scout.

Assistant Scout Masters Needed: Assistants are needed to help out during meetings, campout, and as Merit Badge Counselors.

We are a Scout lead troop, but it takes adults working alongside the Scouts as mentors to assist the Scouts to become outstanding leaders.
